Bearcat Brief 11-29

Bearcat Brief 11-29

By Brendan O'Reilly

Through their first 5 games, the BU men's offense was dominated by sophomore Lazar Trifunovich.
But in Tuesday's game at Cornell, the Bearcats got needed contributions from up and down their bench.
Devon McBride lead the team in scoring and rebounds, while Reggie Fuller stepped in and blocked 6 shots.
Kevin Broadus says, " If they keep stepping up like they did tonight and play along with the upperclassmen, richie and Mike, we're going to get better. Like I always say, can't be bitter, have to get better. I think those guys put out an effort. It's hard to lose but I saw a lot of positives out there."
junior transfer Milos Klimovic, who lead the team in scoring in the season opener, did not play at Cornell.
Broadus called that simply a coach's decision.

On the women's side the team finally played a home game, but that game ended the same way as the previous 4, with a loss.
Frustration is mounting as the team struggled on close range shots in last night's game, but also in the fact that it's the 4th time in 5 games that the Bearcats finished within 9 points of the winning team.
Rich Conover says, " Yeah it's frustrating but we need to get with the ball. We've been really loose with it, turning it over 20 times in games where you're losing by 4 or 6 points certainly takes its toll. It's something we have to get to the gym and get better."
Again, looking at the bright side, BU is hoping a case of home cooking will get them right.
" Hopefully with 6 of our next 9 at home we'll gain some confidence here at the events center."
