Bearcat Brief 1-10

Bearcat Brief 1-10

By Brendan O'Reilly

A look at the improving men's basketball team, and the women's team eager to start conference play in this week's BU Bearcats Brief.

But there's cause for optimism and that's one of the topics in this week's BU Bearcat Brief. Here's Justin Horowitz. Kevin Broadus came to BU with big plans for change. That included installing an offensive system he brought from Georgetown. The Bearcats suffered through growing pains during their four and nine start, averaging just 67 points per game.

But the comfort level is growing as BU's up to 74 points per game over the last two games. "Finally we put that cake together that was planned to be made before the season even started. This happened way before the first practice. This was the plan to have Laz inside, Mike and Rich to push the ball and have me outside to shoot the three-pointers." The men will look for their first road win of the season Saturday at Albany.
Meanwhile, the women have limped through the non-conference season with a 2 and 11 record. But the slate's wiped clean come Saturday when the Bearcats kick off America Aast play against Boston University.

"I think this is as coaches say a new chapter in our season and hopefully we can all stick together and come out and practice and get ready for the conference." "I think we have a little ways to go but we're going to be playing until March so while we've got a big conference opener on Saturday against Boston, there's a long road to go and we've just got to be committed to being in the gym and getting better as a team."

The Bearcats overcame a 17-point deficit to beat Boston in the quarterfinals of last year's America East tournament. And that's this week's BU Bearcat Brief.
