After a season-high two-game homestand, the Bearcat men hit the road for a Saturday game at Tulane.

That means Christmas Day was spent travelling to New Orleans, not at home with family.

But not everyone says spending the holiday in an airplane is depressing.

"Don't mind at all, says leading-scorer D.J. Rivera. "Me being old, I'm not going to get a lot of gifts so a gift I would like to have and I'm sure coach would like to have is a win going out to New Orleans."

It was 76 degrees and partly sunny today in the Big Easy.

In years past, the Bearcats have had at least four days off during the holidays.

Of course most of the guys prefer to spend Christmas at home, but there's business to take care of on the road.

"As a young coach, I remember saying I always wanted to play on Christmas like the NBA, you want to play on Thanksgiving, but now that it's here, I wish, you got to be careful what you wish for because I'd rather be spending it in D.C. and Maryland with my kids and my family," says head coach Kevin Broadus.

Adds sophomore forward Moussa Camara, "Yeah, I know that we got to spend Christmas in Binghamton. It's pretty boring, but it's fine. We got to play basketball and get better so we do good in conference. We got to get ready for conference in January."

Meanwhile, the Bearcat women dropped their third straight game last Saturday at St. Bonaventure.

Nicole Scholl's team is averaging less than 40 points per game during the skid.

They have 10 days off between games, but don't play another home game until January 10th.
