Tuesday night's 73-71 win over Marist is the Bearcats seventh pre-conference victory, the most in program history.

Maybe the secret to the early season success is several new players on the roster.

Perhaps the team buying into Coach Broadus defensive mindset.
Or just maybe, it's all about the uniforms.

BU debuted new gray home jerseys this week.

Gray jerseys that resemble the ones worn by Broadus' old team at Georgetown.

"We're getting there," says Coach Broadus. "We got to sneak some blue in there somewhere. How 'bout those Hoyas! Those are my guys, you know. JT3 and those guys are playing well."

Adds senior Reggie Fuller, "You know, I didn't even notice that. That's why we probably got the gray because he wants us to be like Georgetown, but Coach Broadus is a funny, funny man."

A funny guy that's got BU playing its best ball of the season.

The Bearcats tip off the conference schedule with the league's second-best record, giving the team a very simple wish for the New Year.

"Tournament time," says leading-scorer D.J. Rivera. "That's all I hope for. That's all I wish for. Tourney time."

Elsewhere on campus, the women's team dropped its fourth straight game on the road 79-61 at Sacred Heart.

The wrestling team placed 12th out of 31 teams at the Southern Scuffle Tournament in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Freshman Donnie Vinson from Whitney Point placed third at 149 pounds while Josh Patterson took second at 184 pounds.
