The Baseball team moved into first place after taking three of four at Albany this past weekend.

Vestal-grad Corey Taylor leads the Bearcats in home runs, RBI and doubles while batting .309.

BU hosts defending conference champ Stony Brook for a pair of doubleheaders this weekend.

Ed Stephenson's lacrosse team fell to 2 and 10 on the season with a loss at 12th-ranked Maryland.

While the team's overall record isn't great, the Bearcats are very much alive for a spot in the conference tournament and its automatic qualifier to the NCAA playoffs for the champion.

"Come playoffs, it's, every team's even again so it's a sudden death situation where one loss and you're out so we get in, we'll take it from there," says senior goalie Larry Kline.

The softball team was swept in a three-game set at home against Maine over the weekend, but a bright spot has been the play of freshman and Windsor-grad Meghan Tucker.

She has started 28 of the team's 30 games and leads the team in wins and is second in innings pitched.

Not bad for a freshman who was leading her team to a state title last year.

"Well, it's a lot harder physically, but I think the adjustment, it's a big adjustment," says Tucker. "You have to get used to it but it's definitely doable."

Adds head coach Ali Brian, "I think she's doing great. She works hard. She's got a lot of heart and represents everything that we want in a player so we're happy to have her."
