The undefeated men's soccer team is ranked fifth in the latest northeast regional rankings.

The 2-0 Bearcats have scored four goals through their first two games and Maine-Endwell grad Kyle Kucharski has had a hand in all of them.

The senior back's newest responsibility is that of deliverer, the guy who serves the ball in on free kicks and set plays.

"He's worked long and hard for about nine or 10 months on delivering the balls because he knew that we had graduated a player and he was going to have to fulfill that role," says head coach Paul Marco.

"I did it throughout most of high school," says Kucharski. "Coming here to the next level, you know, you've got some better players, losing a few guys last year, I'm more than happy to step up into that role."

The next men's home game is Sunday, September 27th against Niagara.

The women's team is simply looking for a goal.

They've yet to score one through their first four games.

The Bearcats have taken nearly 8 shots per game, but second-year head coach Sarah McClellan says something is missing offensively.

"It's just that final pass that we've got to clean up, final shot, final cross, the final run in the box," says McClellan. "We're just missing that last piece."

The Bearcats still have two weeks to get on track before the conference season kicks off.

And finally, former all-conference center Laura Franceski has signed a contract to play professionally in Italy.

The player known as the Franchise led the America East in blocked shots last season and ranks second all-time in that category at BU.
