Vestal, NY (WBNG Binghamton) - Don't look now, but the Bearcat Men are only two games out of first place thanks to Wednesday night's 17-point win over UMBC and Sunday's upset win over Vermont.

Greer Wright and Dylan Talley were honored by the America East for their recent play.

But despite the much better-than-expected record, Mark Macon isn't concerned about the standings.

"We just want to be, come tournament time, up and rolling on all cylinders, that's it," says Macon. "That's what we want to be. We want to come out and be ready to win three games."

Next up is a Saturday night home game against New Hampshire.

Nicole Scholl's women's team hopes it has finally turned a corner.

The Bearcats played their best game of the season Saturday in a 24-point win over UNH.

Viive Rebane scored a career-high 20 points while the team shot a red-hot 54-percent from the field.

"We are a good shooting team, like, we have Erica Carter and like, any of our guards can shoot so if you leave us open, we're going to make them," says Rebane.

"It doesn't get any easier," adds head coach Nicole Scholl. "We face a young Albany squad that's scrappy. It's nice, we get a couple days off and this is our bye week this week within the conference and we get a couple good days of practice."

The Bearcats can get back to 500 in the conference with a win over the Great Danes.
