BINGHAMTON - Thad Weber pitched 6.2 innings before allowing a hit, and went a season-high eight innings as he led the Erie SeaWolves to a 5-1 victory over the Binghamton Mets Sunday at NYSEG Stadium.

Ike Davis broke up the no hitter, and Lucas Duda extended his Eastern League-leading hitting streak to 17 games in the seventh.

Erie scored first by striking for two runs on four straight hits in the first inning off Eric Brown.

With two outs, Alex Avila singled and was moved to third on a Brennan Boesch single.

Casper Wells then drove in Avila with a single to center and moved Boesch to second.

Ron Bourquin capped the scoring by singling to right to bring in Boesch making it 2-0.

Brown shut down the SeaWolves until the fifth inning when he issued a one-out walk to Cale Iorg.

Then with two outs, Boesch singled to send Iorg to third.

Wells then doubled to score both Iorg and Boesch, making it 4-0.

Wells was thrown out at third trying to stretch it into a triple.

Erie scored again in the seventh as Brown issued a leadoff walk to Deik Scram before being replaced by Emary Frederick.

Frederick then allowed a double to Iorg, scoring Scram from first to give Erie (52-42) a 5-0 lead.

Brown went six-plus innings and lost his seventh consecutive game, giving up five runs on nine hits.

In the eighth inning, Binghamton (35-58) threatened to score multiple runs off Weber, but Jonathan Malo, who reached on a fielder’s choice, was thrown out at the plate trying to score from first on Ruben Tejada’s 17th double.

Jose Coronado then popped a shallow hit into center to score Tejada, putting the B-Mets on the board 5-1.

Weber, allowed a season-low five hits, one run and no walks for his third win of the season.

Emmanuel Garcia extended his home on-base streak to 22 games when he was hit by a pitch in the first.

Binghamton begins the second half of the eight-game home stand against the Connecticut Defenders Monday night.
