Omar In Binghamton

By Brendan O'Reilly

Last night the NY Mets lost for the 9th time in their last 12 games.
And as bad as things have been on the field, it's been an even tougher stretch off the field, as the Mets, and specifically their general manager Omar Minaya, have been tabloid targets
Today Minaya is in Binghamton to watch the B-Mets game against Harrisburg.
After batting practice I spoke with Omar about his troubles, and his team's struggles in the standings.
And he has a message for the suffering fans of the Mets
" Yes the message from your Mets fans as they been very loyal. And we've had the past four years we've won the most games in the National League. This year has not been a good year because of injuries, and just to continue to support the club and hopefully we can improve the team this year. And if we don't get in we're definitely looking forward to next year."
He says he's here to see a few players in person, but wouldn't mention any names.
He added a few players on the roster may be in line for a September callup to the bigs.
