Roberto's Kids

Tools

By Brendan O'Reilly

Roberto Clemente Jr, the son of the hall of fame outfielder, was at last night's B-Mets game collecting new and lightly used baseball equipment for Roberto's Kids to be distributed in the Dominican Republic and Puerto Rico.
It's a continuation of the legacy his father started before his tragic death in a plane crash delivering relief aid to Nicaragua in 1972.
"Right now, this organization goes hand-in-hand with dad's dream of helping kids obviously this is something that will help promote the game of baseball also in the opportunity for kids to have the equipment to play the game."
Fans who bring donations will be given a complimentary ticket for any future 2009 B-Mets home game.
