Vestal, N.Y. - Jenna Balent threw a six-inning no-hitter to guide Maine (26-18, 6-5 AE) over Binghamton (5-26, 0-11 AE) 12-0 in an America East game on Sunday afternoon.

Balent allowed only three runners to reach base on two walks and a fielding error. Balent also struck out eight batters in the game.

This was Balent's fourth consecutive complete game shutout for the Black Bears.

Binghamton's Cyrilla Suker was dueling with Balent through four innings of a 0-0 game until Maine's bats got hot in the top of the fifth.

The Black Bears crushed three home runs in the game and did all of their scoring in the fifth and sixth innings.

Maine broke the game wide-open with a nine-run sixth inning that featured six hits and three Binghamton errors in the field.

Maine's Alexis Souhlaris was 3-for-4 with her 12th home run of the season and two RBI and teammate Terren Hall was 2-for-4 with a home run and four RBI.

Binghamton will return to action on Wednesday as they travel to St. Francis (Pa.) for a doubleheader at 3 p.m.
