BU Tourney Time

It was a daunting task for the BU men's basketball team in March. The Bearcats played 2nd seed Duke in their home state in the opening round of the NCAA tournament.
To give some perspective, what the BU volleyball team will now have to do is similar to what it was like playing John Wooden's UCLA basketball team in 1973....in Los Angeles.
That UCLA team capped their 7th straight national title, winning 75 straight games in the process.
Now the BU volleyball team preps for #1 ranked Penn state, winners of the past 2 national championships and riding a 96-match winning streak.
No one's saying it will be easy, but the Bearcats are not making the trip to Happy Valley to lay down and lose.
Junior Michelle McDonough says, " We have to play our game, we have to focus on what we can do. We know that they're a great team and that they're going to have a lot of different experiences. We just have to focus on the basic skills, just our basic passing, setting, hitting. Just control."
Junior setter Lindsey Mueller agrees:
" Basically it's just mental. You just have to rehearse it in your head and see yourself playing well. And then make sure you play, or practice, with the same intensity that you're going to be playing with in that game."
Penn state hosts the regional, which includes a first and second round match.
This is the Bearcats first trip to the NCAA tournament since 2005, when they played and lost, to Penn state.
