With just 3 returning regulars, it makes sense that it would be some new faces leading the BU men's basketball team this season.
Freshman Dylan Talley has twice been named the league rookie of the week, but was out injured on Saturday.
So fellow freshman Pina Guillaume picked up the slack to earn the league honor for the second time as well.
Interim head coach Mark Macon says, " He does something that I love. He attacks the basket to rebound the basketball. That's a skill that you truly can't teach you think you can can't. A guy has to be aggressive enough to want to just go get it.
With him scoring the way he did today was good for us. He was happy. It's good to see him happy. He had 19 points and nine rebounds and it was just a good feeling for us."
Most of the players and even the coach from last year's championship team have been suspended. But the policies of last year remain, first year players still can not speak with the media.
As we close in on the conference year, coach Macon is not prepared to give his team a grade just yet.
" We're just trying to get better every day. Every day. Every day. Slowly but surely the skate board is on the hill, rolling down the hill. The brakes are still rubbing, but we're rolling down the hill. We just want to get better."
The Bearcats open the conference season Thursday at Albany.
