Vestal, NY (WBNG Binghamton)

This weekend after an Illinois loss, coach Bruce Webber refused to allow his players to talk with the media. And that was a big story.
I guess we're just used to it. Even after their best conference WIN of the season, our local media was denied access to any Bearcat player interviews.
Luckily we still got to hear from Mark Macon.

First he spoke for his players, actually imitating their voice in his response, but was then asked if the win against Vermont meant something more.
The Catamounts are a bit of a rival, and were among the favorites to win the league, and former coach Tom Brennan was very critical of the BU team during their recent scandal.
Macon however thought there was another reason.
Macon says, " I think it was probably the colors, because we both wear green. Seriously. I looked at their shoes and said, they've got the same shoes we've got! I can't swear to you because I don't swear...On everything I love....when you just said that I knew nothing of it. But it's probably the colors. The kids don't like them wearing green. They should wear yellow and green instead of green and white."

The Bearcats are back to work Wednesday when the hit the road to face UMBC, who is 0-7 in conference and 1-19 overall.
