Vestal, NY (WBNG Binghamton)

A long long time ago when I was an undergrad at then SUNY Binghamton, I wrote for the student paper, and right around this time made a joke in a column where I gave out Christmas gifts to sports figures.
And to the winless Binghamton Colonials I awarded a victory, saying this may be the only way they get one.
Two days later I had to meet with the coach for a radio interview.
And he read the column.

Not only did Jim Norris agree to continue that interview, we had many more.
After his time as coach he moved to the administration, eventually becoming interim athletic director during the most trying times the athletic department could ever imagine.
After 21 years today was Jim's last day on campus, but retiring from this job hardly means retiring from sports.

Jim was a youth coach all the way up through a division 3 head coach.
He says he'll spend a lot of time watching his nephews play, and will still be keeping track of the Bearcats.
