(WBNG Binghamton) The Binghamton University men's lacrosse team is prepared to take on Stony Brook in the America East Tournament.

The team has gone through a great deal this season, including the mid-season resignation of men's lacrosse coach Ed Stephenson after several players were suspended from the team.

But the Bearcats team battled through the distraction to reach the America East playoffs.

"We had a little bit of turmoil mid year and had a couple bumps in the road. I've been so proud of the way the guys have responded and I think it has definitely brought us closer together as a team," says interim coach Kevin McKeown.

"It's pretty motivating. It's tough when you lose your coach, but you think when everyone's talking down on you you want to go out there and prove them wrong," says junior midfielder Chris Cook.

Binghamton travels to 13th ranked Stony Brook Wednesday night at 7:00 pm.
