Vestal, NY (WBNG Binghamton)
There's a new man in charge of the athletics department at Binghamton University.
And he has a little experience running a division one program.
Patrick Elliott is leaving his position at St. Peter's College to take over as Binghamton University's athletic director.
In his time at St. Peters, the school had it's most success in athletics.
Last season 4 teams won conference championships and the men's basketball team made the NCAA tournament.
He's taking over a program that's only been Division One for 10 years.
And that's overcoming a scandal in the basketball program.
Elliott says his main focus is restoring integrity into the entire athletic program.
"When there are challenges, and you know there is always going to be challenges in college athletics, we see it every day when there are challenges, its how you react to those challenges."
Elliott will replace interim athletic director Jim Norris, who is retiring after 21 years at Binghamton University.
