Vestal, NY (WBNG Binghamton) It's the start of a new era at Binghamton University.
And at least one of the returning players is excited to get to work.
The Bearcats officially introduced Tommy Dempsey as their new head men's basketball coach.
Binghamton native Jimmy Gray, the teams starting point guard, got his first opportunity to meet his new boss Friday.
Gray says he only had a brief conversation with Dempsey, but says he's very excited for a new start and to see how the new coach will run things.
"We're going to get a better sense of each other and with that being said, I mean, we'll be fine and figure out ways he's going to do it and my experience being here so with those 2, I think we'll be fine," says Gray.
Dempsey's first order of business will be trying to fill out a roster that will be without it's leading scorer for at least part of the season as he recovers from a knee injury and one that's losing it's top 3 scoring freshman from last season.
