BU Soccer Team Looking To Prove People Wrong

All the great athletes keep tabs on what people say about them.

Those athletes, like Michael Jordan and Tigers Woods, like to make people pay for slighting them.

If the Binghamton University men's soccer team buys into that theory, the rest of the America East better watch out.

The Bearcats have been picked to finish 5th in the America East coaches poll.

Players and coaches feel that's way to low.

While it is a very young team, the Bearcats return 3 second team all conference players from last year: senior Scott Zobre, junior Ryan Walter, and sophomore Jay Keegan.

And expect to finish at the top of the conference.

"If you ask me, I would say championships, definitely that's every one of our goals this year. We all think we can reach it so even if people don't predict us to be there, we will work as hard as we can to get it done," says senior Kyle Manscuk.

"Predictions are just that and I didn't get to vote for my own team. I would have picked us first so I think our expectation doesn't usually change. May the difference this year is we are quite young," says coach Paul Marco.

The Bearcats face a tough test to start the season, playing UNC Wilmington, Monmouth, Ohio State and Penn State.

All ranked teams.
