Vestal, NY (WBNG Binghamton) The Binghamton University women's volleyball team is on it's way to Boston to open the season.
And they're hoping for a much better season than last year.

The Bearcats return 6 starters and 9 letter winners from last year's team, that failed to make the playoffs for the first time since 2003.

Coach Glen Kiriyama says his team may be young, but they have plenty of experience.

Players say they're using the motivation of a disappointing season last year, to help drive them this season.

"Last year was a little tough but I think we learned from what happened last year so all that experience is back. We have 3 seniors. We have a lot of juniors and sophomores that are just good with their experience and that's going to help a lot," says senior Iva Partaleva.

"Everyone's been working really hard in the off-season. We've made it our main goal to come in really strong this season, just prove ourselves in conference," says senior Alex Roland.

The Bearcats start with host Boston College Friday afternoon.

They will also face Texas Tech, Fordham and Siena during the two-day, four-match tournament.
