The Binghamton University women's cross country team has a little motivation going into this season.
The women are looking to improve on a 7th place finish in the America East.
And to compete a little bit with the guys, who won the conference last year.
One looking to improve is Candor native Ashley Horton.
The senior says she wants to finish in the top 10 in the conference and have a strong run at regionals.
Plus, competing against several Section IV runners adds a little bit more motivation.
"There is...a bunch of us are from the area and its nice to run with people you've been running with for years. It's also nice to be running with some different girls too," Horton says.
The girls team starts the season at home on Saturday, September 11th, hosting the Binghamton Invitational.
