Vestal, NY (WBNG Binghamton)
It has been a tough season inside the events center for BU teams.
The men's basketball squad is still winless, and the women's team has only gone 2-4 on their home floor.
But a new team is looking to shake up the win percentage in the building.
For the first time, the BU wrestling team will host a dual at the events center, when they welcome in #4 ranked Cornell on Sunday.
They hope for a great crowd, and an even better effort than they saw on Tuesday when they nearly beat #12 Oklahoma.
" Looking back on it, there were a lot of positives coming out of Tuesday's meet. I think these guys gained a lot of confidence out of that. We were right there, neck and neck with one of the top teams in the country. Obviously Cornell is ranked a little higher but there should be no reason we can't go in there and compete with them."
" It's really exciting, I can feel it. This is 5 years now and the environment, I mean the whole community, everybody looks up to Binghamton wrestling. We have Billy Baldwin on the radio giving us shout out, we have TV commercials and it's the start of something, a community based around wrestling."
Cornell's top wrestler is Lansing grad and 2-time national champ Kyle Dake.
He lost to good friend Donnie Vinson in a dual last year. This season he matches up with Justin Lister.
The schools face off Sunday at 5:00
