(WBNG BINGHAMTON) The Binghamton men's basketball team doesn't have a winning streak to speak of yet.

The Bearcats enter America East play after finishing their non-conference slate with 3 wins and 10 losses.

Their first conference opponent is Maine.
The Black Bears and Bearcats are in similar spots entering conference play -- Maine is sitting at 2-10 on the year.

But BU head coach Tommy Dempsey says like BU, Maine is gaining confidence and presents another challenge.

"They've played well in their last couple of games, so they're starting to build a little confidence," he said. "It's a big game for them, it's a home opener in the league. They look at us as a team they really feel that they need to beat, so I think they'll have good energy we're going to have to go up there and play really well to beat them."

"I think they finished off pretty well at the end of their non-conference schedule, much like we did," said freshman guard Marlon Beck.

"think it will be a good game, but I think we should have the advantage because we've been doing very well in practice, film studies, everything like that -- we feel as though we're confident going in, so we feel we can really get an advantage over them."

This game is set for Sunday afternoon at 4:30 p.m.
