(WBNG Binghamton) Younger fans of college basketball might not realize there is a straight line connection between Duke and Mike Krzyzewski and Broome Community college, but there is.

Coach K just broke the all-time D-1 wins record, but still doesn't have more victories than Dick Baldwin of BCC.

Baldwin died yesterday in Tampa.

For 45 seasons he roamed the sidelines of either BCC or SUNY Binghamton, amassing a then record 961 victories.

Those who knew him best say he was a true teacher, not just of basketball, but of life.

Never one to yell and scream, he would calmly explain the game to anyone who wanted to listen.

After 40 years at Broome, he resurrected a struggling program at SUNY Binghamton.

A member of the BU hall of fame, and the namesake of the gym at BCC,

Baldwin was also a hall of fame athlete at the university of Rochester.

He was 90 years old.
