Bearcats to savor memorable run

Stillwater, OK (WBNG BINGHAMTON) Thursday, May 22 the Binghamton Bearcats lost to Hartford in the America East tournament. Three days and four wins later, BU won its second consecutive America East title on a walk-off single. Six days after that, Binghamton's season came to an abrupt end at the hands of Nebraska in the NCAA tournament.

Yes, BU blew a ninth inning lead against the Cornhuskers and may still be playing today if not for that; but the run this team made in late May -- that's what the players and coaches will remember the most.

"Not to be overshadowed is the run this program has been on the last 9 or 10 days," said head coach Tim Sinicki after the team's loss. "Beginning at the America East championship, the run we made there, then coming here and maybe a little lackluster last night, but I thought the effort today was outstanding. Despite the loss, I couldn't be more proud of them."

"We're a good program, we know anybody who's on that mound we can hit," said outfielder and graduating senior Bill Bereszniewicz.

"We had a lot of confidence going into today. We fell a little bit short, but that's just how it goes sometimes. That's baseball."
