(WBNG BINGHAMTON) The Binghamton men's basketball team has seen noticeable improvement through two years under Tommy Dempsey.
The Bearcats went from two wins before he arrived, to three last year, to seven this year.
Of course, seven wins is still not nearly good enough. Binghamton found out first-hand how far away it still is from contending after getting blown away by Hartford in the America East tournament.
Dempsey said after the game he still has a lot of work ahead of him.
"To come into this environment tonight and get punched in the mouth was discouraging, but I think it's something that we'll use with us as we move forward," Dempsey said.
"We're not there yet -- I mean, seven wins...I didn't think just because we'd been competitive down the stretch...we have been competitive and that's great. It's a start, it really is, because we have been competitive with the best teams in this league. But, the wins aren't there because we're just not quite there yet."
