Vestal, NY (WBNG Binghamton) The Bearcats started the Tommy Depmsey era with a 17 point win over Susquehanna University.

The Bearcats defense held the visitors to under 30 percent shooting.

But it was the offense that was impressive, shooting 41 percent from beyond the arc.

"Offensively, it was good to see some guys step up...12 3s was a good sign. My teams are going to spread the court. We're going to use the 3 pointer as a weapon," Dempsey says.

The Bearcats open the season for real on Friday night when they travel to take on Loyola at 7:30 pm.

The home opener is next Sunday at 2:00 against Brown.
