Vestal, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Since a win over Bryant at the Events Center a couple of weeks ago, it has been tough sledding for the Bearcats. They've lost two straight on the road, in games that weren't all that close.

That makes Thursday's America East home opener that much more important. The win over Bryant snapped a 15-game losing streak in Vestal.

But Coach Tommy Dempsey believes the good feeling from the victory can carry over to their game against New Hampshire.

"This would be a good time to win a ballgame [Thursday] night," said Dempsey. "So I think, you don't want to say it's a big game this early in the season, but it would be really good for our confidence to build off our last performance at home."

It's part of a two-game homestand for the Bearcats, which is another reason Thursday's game is important. BU hosts UMass-Lowell for the first time on Saturday.
