Lowell, MA (WBNG BINGHAMTON) Jake Thomas laced a two-out single in the top of the 9th inning to break a 3-3 tie, propelling Binghamton University to a 4-3 win over Stony Brook in the America East tournament. The win forces a final, winner-take-all championship game between the same teams Sunday afternoon.

Tsuyoshi Horibata allowed a hit and a walk in the ninth inning, but held on to earn the save and keep the Bearcats' season alive.

Freshman Nicholas Liegi started for the Bearcats and kept his team in the ballgame, throwing 4.0 innings of 1-run ball.

Earlier in the day, Binghamton won an elimination game against Hartford, 8-0, behind a complete game shutout from junior hurler Greg Ostner.
