Vestal, NY (WBNG Binghamton) The St. Bonaventure women's basketball team is off to a 6 and 1 start, including 5 and 0 on the road.

Part of the reason for their success is their head coach, Windsor Native Jim Crowley.

Crowley is in his 12th season as the Bonnies head coach.

Last year was the 3rd consecutive 20 win season under his watch.

Crowley says playing his hometown school was special.

"Obviously my family is here but some other people who have had a great impact on my life were able to come see. I'm always a Windsor guy. The fact to come back here, it's just great to come back here and see what this university is doing and what it means to this area," he says.

Crowley was named the Atlantic 10 coach of the year in 2009, becoming the first in program history to win the honor.

The Bonnies are back in action Wednesday when they host Indiana.
