Johnson City, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Some of the opponents may not be changing for Davis College, but their Division will be. Davis College announced on Tuesday, it'll be joining the U.S. Collegiate Athletic Association as a Division 2 member starting on July 1st.
As an independent, the Falcons played several members of the USCAA already, but now will have the opportunity to compete against them for national titles.
It's an exciting time for the athletic department.
"You know as the college continues to grow up, we want the athletic department to grow with the college," said athletic director Daniel Rathmell, who also serves as the men's basketball coach. "You know I'm thrilled for our student athletes and college to have this opportunity to compete on a national scale."
Along with the men's and women's basketball teams, Davis will also compete in men's soccer and women's volleyball in the USCAA.
