Vestal, NY (WBNG Binghamton) The Binghamton University basketball team was extremely young last season. At times the Bearcats were starting four freshman and a sophomore.

Now, BU is ready to add six more freshman to the mix for next season.

Binghamton announced a six-player recruiting class last week. It's a class that includes Fayetteville-Manlius forward John Schurman from nearby Syracuse, as well as five other players who all stand 6'5" or taller.

It's a group of athletic forwards and guards, who coach Tommy Dempsey believes will allow them to run a more up-tempo offense. Now, the key is working with the talent they've brought in.

"I feel like my first two years here, I felt like in so many ways we spent 80-percent of our time was spent trying to build this roster," said Dempsey. "Now that we felt like we've built the roster, now we can get to the fun part, that is developing the roster and trying to put a winning basketball team on the court."
