VESTAL (WBNG BINGHAMTON) As freshmen, Marlon Beck, Yosef Yacob, Nick Madray and Magnus Richards spoke about high expectations entering last season.

But after a 7-23 year for the BU men's basketball team, it's time to go back to the drawing board.

The young Bearcats did show promise down the stretch last season: BU won three of four games at one point and challenged top-seed Vermont in their final regular season game. That gives these freshman -- soon-to-be sophomores -- some extra motivation, according to their head coach.

"They were humbled and they learned a lot and now that's really fired us into the spring in a way," said Tommy Dempsey. "There is more of a sense of urgency now that they realize how difficult it is to win at this level."
