Cortland, NY (WBNG Binghamton)

The Cortland Red Dragons softball team will be headed to the College World Series.
This year, they hope to erase the bad memories from their last trip.

The Red Dragons, ranked 8th in the National Fast Pitch Coaches Association Top 25, will start against number one seeded Linfield College of Oregon.
Last season, the Dragons didn't make it out of the regional tournament.
And two years ago, they lost their first two games in the college world series.
Now, the ladies say they aren't just happy to be there, they want to win.

"I think I speak for all the seniors when I say we want to do something with this appearance this year and the only way we can do that is if we keep playing our game and don't in there too confident but don't go in there scared."

"We know we open up against a tremendously talented team but to be a national champion, you'd be matched up with them eventually so we just get to start with them first with Linfield. We want to win. We're not just happy going, we really want to win when we get there."

Cortland opens up the College World Series on Friday at 11:00 am in Salem, Virginia.
