Syracuse, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Syracuse freshman guard Tyler Ennis has decided to leave school for the NBA Draft after just one season with the Orange.

Ennis announced his decision to enter the draft through a statement released by the Syracuse University athletic department on Thursday.

"I'd like to thank Coach [Jim] Boeheim, the coaching staff, my teammates and the amazing fans of Syracuse for the opportunity to play at a great university like Syracuse," Ennis said in the statement released by the school. "I feel this experience has helped prepare me to fulfill my lifelong dream - to play in the NBA."

In his one season with the Orange, Ennis averaged 12.9 points and 5.5 assists per game.

He helped lead Syracuse to a 25-0 start, which is the best in school history.

SU's season ended last Saturday with a loss to Dayton in the third round of the NCAA Tournament.
