Not much would usually be made about Monmouth visiting the Events Center, but in this case it's a big occasion. Former Binghamton High School star King Rice is the Hawks head coach and will be back in Binghamton Monday.

Rice went on to play for the University of North Carolina after leaving Binghamton, and is in his second season coaching Monmouth.

He also was on hand Sunday to speak to community members at the BX Winter Social Event in downtown Binghamton. He said it's good to be back in the Southern Tier.

"I'm just excited for the opportunity to play in front of my home fans, people that I grew up with, people that helped me get to where I am today," said Rice. "No real expectation level, I'm just hoping that my team plays well."

Rice also said he hopes BU has one bad game tomorrow against his Hawks, but then he'll be right back to rooting for the Bearcats.
