Apalachin (WBNG BINGHAMTON) February brought a harsh winter to Syracuse men's basetball this past season. On February 15, the team was undefeated.

Four days later, 'Cuse lost to Boston College, then lost three of its next five games and would eventually end the season with a thud early in the NCAA Tournament.

February will be no picnic this season. Syracuse's February 2015 schedule includes two games against Duke and games against Louisville, Notre Dame and Pittsburgh.

At a charity golf tournament in Apalachin thursday, assistant coach Gerry McNamara summed up the Orange's home stretch with one word: brutal.

"It's brutal. The schedule is brutal," he said. "The march from Valentine's Day to March 7 is absolutely brutal. We saw it a little bit last year, down the stretch run we had some really difficult games to contend with and it's going to be no different this year."
