(WBNG Binghamton) A standout Cornell Lacrosse player may get one more season in Ithaca.
Senior Rob Pannell has asked the Ivy League to grant him one more year of eligibility.
The 2011 United States Intercollegiate Lacrosse Association player of the year missed almost all of last season after suffering a foot injury.
Because he only played in 2 games last season, he still has a year of eligibility according to the NCAA.
But Ivy League rules prohibit a student-athlete with a degree from gaining an extra season to get his final year of eligibility.
No word on when the Ivy League will make a final decision.
