Washington, D.C. (WBNG Binghamton)
While we wait for hockey to start, 2 Binghamton University baseball players are getting some extra work in the Washington D.C. heat.
Sophomore pitcher Mark Palumbo and junior third baseman Jordon Smucker are spending their off-season playing for the Herndon Braves in the Cal Ripken Sr. Collegiate Baseball League.
"Hopefully when we come down here we head back up to school a little bit better, just get some more experience, get some time under some new coaches, see if they have any recommendations or any insight for us. And overall, just have fun."
Smucker has taken advantage of the extra reps, he ranks in the leagues' top 15 batting averages, sitting at .312.
