Syracuse, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Syracuse University officials have come to an agreement with the Big East conference and will leave for the ACC after next year.
The Orange were expected to leave the conference before the 2014 season.
Now, they will pay the Big East conference 7.5 million dollars to leave in July of 2013.
That's 2.5 million dollars more than required in the conference by laws.
That allows the Orange to start playing all of it's sports in the ACC in the fall of 2013.
Pittsburgh also announced they will leave the Big East, but no date for their departure has been set.
