Washington D.C. (WBNG Binghamton) Syracuse built an 18-point first half lead, and weathered the Indiana storm in the second to beat the Hoosiers 61-50 in the Sweet 16 Thursday night.

Michael Carter-Williams led the way for the Orange, posting a game-high 24 points and also grabbing six rebounds and four steals. The senior, Brandon Triche, tallied 14 points as he prevented his career from ending Thursday.

With the win, Syracuse advances to the Elite 8 for the second straight year. It's the first time in the Orange's history that the team has made two straight Elite 8's.

The Orange now faces Marquette on Saturday at the Verizon Center. The first meeting between the two schools this season was during the Orange's regular season losing streak, and SU lost 74-71.

Saturday's game is set to tip at 4:30, and will be broadcast on WBNG.
