Syracuse prepares for showdown with Pitt

(WBNG Binghamton) It may be a new conference, but the build-up to Syracuse and Pittsburgh Saturday doesn't feel much different. The only real change is now they're fighting for the top spot in the ACC rather than the Big East.

The Orange and Panthers both boast 4-0 records in conference, and there's just one blemish between the two. That belongs to Pitt who has a loss on its resume.

The players say the rivalry may have a new wrinkle to it, but on the court things don't change.

"It's going to be a good game, a tough game," said Syracuse sophomore Jerami Grant. "We definitely want to bring Pitt to our home and play them tough."

"They don't give you anything easy, you have to work for everything," said Orange senior CJ Fair. "We know their style and they know us, so it's going to be a tough battle. It's whoever wants it more."

Syracuse is 2-2 in its last four meetings with the Panthers. Tip off is set for 4 p.m. in the Carrier Dome on Saturday. It's the first of two games between the teams this season.
