• Bearcats sweep Maine in conference opener

    ORONO, Maine - Binghamton baseball used two dominating pitching performances and 21 hits in a twinbill sweep of Maine Saturday afternoon at Mahaney Diamond. The Bearcats (6-14, 2-0 America East) won 6-1 and 8-1 in the conference openers for both teams. Binghamton pitchers limited Maine (5-17, 0-2 AE) to two runs on nine hits over 16 innings.

  • Syracuse moves on to elite eight

    Chicago, Illinois (WBNG Binghamton) The No. 10 seed Syracuse used a 9-3 run in the final three minutes of the game to defeat the No. 11 seed Gonzaga 63-30 in the NCAA Midwest Regional Semifinals on Friday night at the United Center. The Orange (22-13) advance to the Elite Eight for the first time since the 2013 season.

  • Two BU lacrosse players honored by America East

    Vestal, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Two Binghamton men's lacrosse players were honored today by the America East Conference. Freshman Joe Licata was named Rookie of the Week. Sophomore midfielder Ben Kocis was named Offensive Player of the Week.

    Vestal, NY (WBNG Binghamton) The Binghamton women's lacrosse team (4-4) jumped ahead early and held on late to defeat Sacred Heart (3-4) 9-7 Sunday at the Bearcats Sports Complex.

  • Syracuse dominates en route to Sweet 16

    St. Louis, MO (WBNG Binghamton) Syracuse will make its 19th appearance in the "Sweet 16" after defeating Middle Tennessee, 75-50, in the second round of the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament in St. Louis. The Orange held the Raiders scoreless for more than seven minutes in the second half to pull away for the victory in the 100th NCAA Tournament game in program history.

  • BU lacrosse ties school record with 16 goals

    Vestal, NY (WBNG Binghamton) The Binghamton men's lacrosse team used a six-goal third quarter to fuel a 16-10 win over UMBC Saturday afternoon. BU tied a single-game school record with 16 goals in the America East opener at the Bearcats Sports Complex.

  • Local Bonnies help St. Bonaventure advance

    Corvallis, Oregon (WBNG Binghamton) Two local Bonnies helped St. Bonaventure upset Oklahoma State in the first round. Harpursville's Miranda Drummond scored 11 points while Oneota's Mariah Ruff dished out five assists and grabbed five rebounds.

    NEW YORK, N.Y. (WBNG Binghamton) Jack McKeever of the Binghamton wrestling team advanced to the second day of the 2016 NCAA Championships, winning his consolation match Thursday to move on to Friday's action at Madison Square Garden.
