    ITHACA (WBNG BINGHAMTON) Junior Randy Staats netted a career high nine points (five goals, four assists) and Syracuse outscored Cornell 8-4 in the second half as the seventh-ranked Orange (7-3) defeated the sixth-ranked Big Red, 14-9, at Schoellkopf Field on Tuesday, April 8.

  • Nelson, Hunt earn weekly America East honors

    VESTAL (WBNG BINGHAMTON) Junior attackman Tucker Nelson was named America East men’s lacrosse Player of the Week Monday afternoon for his 10-point effort in Binghamton’s two games this week. Freshman outfielder Bridget Hunt was been named the America East Softball Rookie of the Week for April 7.

  • Bearcats softball turns away UMBC

    VESTAL (WBNG BINGHAMTON) Sophomore catcher Taylor Chaffee and senior second baseman Jessica Bump each homered twice, powering Binghamton (12-10, 3-0 AE) to a sweep over UMBC (22-14, 0-5 AE) in an America East softball doubleheader on Sunday afternoon at the Bearcats Sports Complex. The Bearcats held on for a 9-6 win in the opener before taking the nightcap 3-1.

  • BU baseball sweeps UMBC

    VESTAL (WBNG BINGHAMTON) Junior left fielder Jake Thomas belted a pair of home runs (4 RBI) and Binghamton baseball completed a series sweep of visiting UMBC (6-18, 3-6 AE) with an 8-4 win in Sunday’s nightcap from the Bearcats Sports Complex.

  • Eichner's big day keys Bearcats against UMBC

    VESTAL (WBNG BINGHAMTON) Freshman third baseman Crysti Eichner went 3-for-3 and drove in a career-high three runs, powering Binghamton (10-10, 1-0 AE) to a 6-2 win over UMBC (22-12, 0-3 AE) in an America East softball game on Saturday at the Bearcats Sports Complex. The victory was the third straight for the Bearcats.

  • Bearcats throttle UMBC, 16-3

    VESTAL (WBNG BINGHAMTON) Binghamton baseball (7-13, 2-4 America East) plated 16 runs on 14 hits and scored in five of eight innings to post a 16-3 win over visiting UMBC (6-16, 3-4 AE) in the opening game of a three-game series Saturday afternoon from the Bearcats Sports Complex.

  • Bearcats give #8 Syracuse a scare

    Syracuse, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Binghamton (3-6, 1-0 AE) gave #8 Syracuse all they could handle on Wednesday night, losing a tight 10-8 non-conference contest in front of 1,847 fans at the Carrier Dome.
