    Grand Chute, WI (WBNG Binghamton) Brandon Serio (Bedford Hills/Fox Lane) threw a complete game six-hitter as nationally top-ranked Cortland defeated second-ranked Frostburg State, 4-1, during the second day of competition at the NCAA Div. III Baseball World Series.

    Grand Chute, WI (WBNG Binghamton) Seth Lamando (Hopewell Junction/Roy C. Ketcham) allowed five hits and matched his career high with 11 strikeouts and Cortland’s offense produced 19 hits as the nationally top-ranked Red Dragons defeated Webster University, 12-4, during the opening day of the NCAA Div. III World Series.

  • U-E grad named to America East All-Rookie team

    Vestal, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Senior outfielder Jake Thomas has been named to the America East All-Conference first team, the conference announced Wednesday night. Thomas was joined by freshman catcher/DH Jason Agresti, who earned a spot on the second team. Freshman outfielder CJ Krowiak made the All-Rookie Team alongside Agresti.

    Syracuse, NY (WBNG Binghamton) It has been more than 15 years since a football player has worn the number 44 at Syracuse University. That iconic number that was worn by Jim Brown, Ernie Davis and Floyd Little hasn't been handed out since 1998, but that's about to change.

    Vestal (WBNG Binghamton) The Binghamton baseball team played to a 4-4 tie with Stony Brook on Saturday at the Bearcats Sports Complex. The America East finale was called with two outs in the top of the ninth inning, when lightning and then rain forced the teams to call the game a tie.

  • Fordham eliminates Bearcats from NCAA Tournament

    Harrisonburg, VA (WBNG BINGHAMTON) Lindsay Maher drove in four runs, leading Fordham (37-19) to an 8-0, five-inning win over Binghamton (24-21) in a NCAA Regional softball elimination game on Saturday afternoon at Veterans Alumni Field. The loss concludes the Bearcats' first-ever trip to the NCAA Division I Tournament.

    Harrisonburg, Va. (WBNG Binghamton) Taylor Newton went 3-for-3 and scored three times, powering No. 17 James Madison (48-8) to a 9-1, five inning win over Binghamton (24-20) in a NCAA Regional softball game on Friday afternoon at Veterans Memorial Field.

    Vestal, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Binghamton baseball dropped a doubleheader to first-place Stony Brook on Friday, falling 13-4 and 5-0 at the Bearcats Sports Complex. With the losses, two-time defending champion BU fell short of qualifying for the postseason after advancing eight consecutive years.

    (WBNG Binghamton) NCAA tournament runner-up Wisconsin is coming to upstate New York next year to play Syracuse at the Carrier Dome as part of the Big Ten/ACC Challenge.
