  • Cortland wins fifth straight SUNYAC title

    Cortland, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Tournament MVP Mark DeMilio (Valhalla) went 4-for-5 with a homer, double, two RBI and three runs scored as Cortland defeated Oswego, 10-3, in the SUNYAC Baseball Tournament Championship Game. Oswego forced a winner-take-all title game earlier in the day with a 3-1 win that snapped Cortland's 17-game winning streak.

  • UMBC sweeps away Bearcats, 9-7

    Vestal, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Visiting UMBC scored runs in six of the last seven innings to hold off Binghamton 9-7 Sunday afternoon at the Bearcats Sports Complex. The Retrievers (25-16, 10-8 AE) built a 7-0 lead and then hung on in the final three innings as a late BU rally came oh-so-close.

  • UMBC sweeps doubleheader with Bearcats

    Vestal, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Binghamton left 22 runners stranded in 16 innings of baseball and suffered a costly doubleheader sweep at the hands of UMBC Saturday afternoon at the Bearcats Sports Complex. The visiting Retrievers won 3-1 and 6-3, strengthening their postseason position and dropping BU into fifth position in the standings.

  • BU rallies past Maine, gets No. 3 seed in AEast tourney

    Vestal, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Freshman Stephanie Bielec singled home the winning run in the bottom of the eighth inning, lifting Binghamton (20-18, 10-6 AE) to a 5-4 win over Maine (20-19, 10-7 AE) in an America East softball game on Saturday afternoon at the Bearcats Sports Complex Softball Facility.

  • Bearcats split with Maine, clinch AEast tourney spot

    Vestal, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Junior first baseman Taylor Chaffee drilled a three-run home run and junior catcher Lisa Cadogan drove in a pair of runs, leading Binghamton (19-18, 9-6 AE) to a split against Maine (21-19, 10-6 AE) in an America East softball doubleheader on Friday afternoon at the Bearcats Sports Complex Softball Facility.

    Cortland, NY (WBNG Binghamton) Austin Clock (Niskayuna) went 3-for-4 with two doubles, an RBI and two runs scored as nationally top-ranked Cortland (33-2) defeated visiting Cazenovia, 11-2, in a non-league game for its 15th consecutive victory.

  • Sinicki reflects on 500 wins at BU

    Vestal (WBNG BINGHAMTON) On April 7, 1993, Tim Sinicki won his first game as head coach of the B-U baseball team. Over 22 years later, he won his 500th game with the Bearcats on Sunday.
