    After the best regular season in program history, the girls from Chenango Forks wanted to cap it off by repeating as Section IV Class C champions.

    The Vestal girls lacrosse team entered the Class B Section IV final unbeaten after finishing a perfect regular season. That did not change Thursday night as the Golden Bears won their fifth straight sectional title.

    Section IV sectionals continued across the Southern Tier on Tuesday. In lacrosse, Class C held semifinals with the winning advancing to the championship game Thursday night.

    There were multiple sports in the Southern Tier playing sectional games on Thursday. In lacrosse, Maine-Endwell welcomed Johnson City and in softball the Wildcats played host to Owego.

  • Section IV boys lacrosse brackets

    The Section IV boys lacrosse brackets have been released. Sectionals begins Friday, May 20 with championship games Thursday, May 27 at Corning High School.

  • Horseheads captures STAC baseball championship

    Four teams faced off Tuesday night to determine a champion in the Southern Tier Athletic Conference. First Union-Endicott faced Seton Catholic and Horseheads faced Oneonta in the semifinals.

  • Vestal and Chenango Forks crack NY state girls lacrosse rankings

    Two teams from Section IV are ranked in the New York State sportswriters association latest girls lacrosse rankings. Vestal is at 21 in Class B and Chenango Forks sits at 24 in Class C.

    Over at Seton Catholic, senior Cassie Kane is shinning on the softball field despite the Saints' less than stellar record. Most importantly though, Kane does her best work in the classroom.
