Otego, NY (WBNG Binghamton) What a difference a year can make in high school football.

Last season, the Unatego Spartans gave up more than 35 points per game in a season that saw them go 1 and 8.

That 1 win was the last game of the season and may have propelled them into this season.

After a 20-0 win over Chenango Forks, a team it lost to by 41 last season, the Spartans are 2 and 2 in division and are looking to possibly clinch a playoff berth.

"All we know is we're going to enjoy this for a day. We're getting ready for Sus valley next week and let the numbers fall...I'm not thinking about numbers or anything. I'm trying to get ready for teams and I think we're taking the attitude of we're going to try to take on that opponent that week. If the numbers fall our way, that's great. It doesn't really matter if we don't win next weekend I don't think," says head coach Frank Microni.

Unatego will host Susquehanna Valley on Friday night.

The Sabres are coming of a double overtime thriller, where they beat Vestal for the first time in over 20 years.
