Vestal, NY (WBNG Binghamton)

On the high school side, it's not the offense of the Vestal boys that was noteworthy, but rather their defense.
In the STAC finals against Ithaca they allowed a goal, the first time they've been scored on all season.

The Golden Bears still got the win, and were upbeat about losing their shutout streak of 16 straight games.

Defender Alex Pelto says, "We were a little disappointed obviously, but we knew was going to happen at some time. You can't be perfect for a full season going this far. We just rallied together. We've been playing together so long. We have a lot of chemistry, and we rallied each other and went on to score the second goal."

Jaisen Clarke adds, "I don't think we spend too much time concentrating on it. We try not to get flustered and pulled together as a team. We just focus what we are good at, and what we're doing the whole game, which is keeping the ball on the ground and not rushing things and playing our normal style even if there is a goal on the board."

Vestal will host the winner of today's Corning-Horseheads match on Saturday at 2:00.
