It was a special season for the Oneonta boys baseball team, ending in a New York State title.
But if you ask them, this season actually started at the end of last year.

Last season, Oneonta lost in the sectional finals to Chenango Valley, who went on to win the state title.
The team, led by 11 seniors, made it their mission to win a sectional title and a state title.
And after beating Briarcliff this weekend, behind the pitching of senior Ben Moxley and the hitting of senior Mike Calkins, they did just that.

Coach Joe Hughes says, "When we got beat by Chenango Valley last year in the sectional game, we dedicated ourselves to getting bigger, stronger and better. It wasn't just lip service, they certainly did. They were in the weight room, they were working hard and they prepared for this day for over a year and I'm really happy for them."

Oneonta finished the season 24 and 2.
